Vietnam CFO Forum 2019 – GLOBAL TRADE: More Proactive, Less Reactive

On November 12, at the Lotte Legend Saigon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the annual Vietnam CFO Forum welcomed over thirty speakers and three hundred attendees. Indochine Counsel’s managing partner, Dang The Duc, spoke as the sole representative from the legal community amidst a number of speakers from technology, fintech, and advisory positions.

Vietnam CFO Forum 2019 is close to Indochine Counsel’s heart as it offers an opportunity for Chief Financial Officers in Vietnam to come together to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing businesses in the region.

This year, Vietnam CFO Forum was themed: Global Trade, More Proactive Less Reactive.

The idea behind the Forum’s theme is to provide a look at the issues facing Vietnamese financiers in light of the current global climate. This includes the U.S.-China Trade War and the increase of protective tariffs in general by the United States. But it also includes unprecedented free trade agreements, specifically between Vietnam and the European Union, and several upcoming agreements between ASEAN and major regional powers.

In light of this, the CFO Forum addressed ways in which CFOs can continue to operate their company’s financial situation from financing to accounting and regulation.
