Indochine Counsel Signs MOU with UEF Faculty of Law to Advance Practical Legal Education in Vietnam

Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, ngày 19 tháng 05 năm 2026

Indochine Counsel has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Faculty of Law of the University of Economics and Finance Ho Chi Minh City (UEF), marking a meaningful step in strengthening the connection between legal education and professional practice in Vietnam.

The signing formed part of UEF’s initiative to expand its network of legal sector partners and enhance practical learning opportunities for law students. Indochine Counsel joined other law firms, legal organisations, and professional institutions in supporting the Faculty of Law’s efforts to bring students closer to the realities of legal practice. UEF signed cooperation agreements with nine legal sector partners, including Indochine Counsel.

Representing Indochine Counsel at the signing ceremony were:

  • Mr. Dang The Duc, Managing Partner
  • Mr. Dang Hoan My, Partner | Co-Head of Corporate and M&A, Projects & Infrastructure
  • Ms. Thai Gia Han, Senior Associate | Head of IP & TMT Practice Group
  • Mr. Ngo Dang Loc, Associate | Deputy Head of Banking & Finance, Capital Markets
  • Ms. Nguyen Khanh Thanh Vi, Head of Marketing & Business Development

Their participation reflects the firm’s commitment to strengthening academic–professional engagement and supporting the development of young legal talent in Vietnam.

As Vietnam’s legal market continues to evolve, the development of future legal professionals requires more than academic knowledge. It requires early exposure to real legal work, professional standards, commercial awareness, and a practical understanding of how law supports business, investment, and institutional decision-making.

Through this cooperation, IC and UEF are expected to collaborate on a range of academic and professional development initiatives, including internships, observation programmes, workshops, professional seminars, curriculum contribution, teaching support, and career-oriented sharing from legal practitioners.

For us, this partnership reflects the firm’s commitment to contributing to the long-term development of Vietnam’s legal profession. As a leading commercial law firm in Vietnam, Indochine Counsel believes that law firms have an important role to play in bridging classroom learning with the realities of legal practice.

The programme also included the “Legal Tok” talkshow, providing students with the opportunity to engage with legal practitioners and gain practical insights into career orientation, professional skills, and the expectations placed on young lawyers entering the market.

We looks forward to working with UEF Faculty of Law in future initiatives that support students in building the knowledge, skills, discipline, and professional mindset required to succeed in an increasingly sophisticated legal market.
